Out on Screen Gala 2019

I had the pleasure of photographing the 2019 Out on Screen Gala held at Emily Carr University and hosted by the folks at the Queer Film Festival.

This event is in its 17th year and brings together artists and performers for a night of inspiration, fundraising and support for the community. With performances from The Coven, @cjhoopdance@rutheodare and music by DJ Adia, the night was no short of great vibes. They held a live auction where art pieces went up for bid. That definitely kept me on my toes with capturing the back and forth bidding!

Proceeds from went to support @outinschools , an award-winning education program that uses film and video to engage students on issues of homophobia, transphobia, and bullying.

My favourite part about photographing events is the ambiance of what makes an event. Everything from your branding, style, colours and theme make up a big part of your event.

Amazing people, doing amazing things right here. I’m so glad to be able to be an ally in this community.
